I'm Zita Dela Cruz, a Filipina bookbinder working from my home studio, Sting & Snout Bindery, in the Philippines. A self-taught bookbinder since May 2022, I create various types of bindings—from rebinding, where I refresh and transform book covers, to full bindings, where I handle everything from printing the text material and sewing the text block to crafting the final cover.I practice traditional bookbinding techniques and am committed to using archivally stable materials of enduring quality, ensuring that my bindings stand the test of time. Each book I create is meticulously crafted by hand, often featuring recessed covers, embroidery, painting, and other intricate details that add depth and texture beyond the usual printed surface.
